Ladies and Gentlemen,
my name is Tessa and I am 17 years old. I am in grade 12 right now and I will probably graduate in June 2018. Before I start studying, I want to spend my time on an issue that I feel strongly concerned about. And with a voluntary program I might be able to positively influence this issue right away. I am an ambitious, flexible and friendly person. Furthermore being honest, tolerant, neutral and optimistic is really important for me. I am really cooperative and always try to help out where I can. I have an open mind and I am good in adapting to new situations, e.g. I was an exchange student in Canada for 3 months. Besides I am calm and factual when it comes to difficult situations and conflict. My interests are playing the piano and drawing. I love to travel and be with friends, respectively with people. After school I want to study medicine, because I would love to save lives and help others. For that I have already made an internship in the hospital, where I helped out with nursing and writing medical reports. Earlier in school I have supported a godson Peter for several years. We have promoted the Christian social work in Uganda and provided financial aid for education there. In 2017 I have participated in World Health Organization at the twenty - ninth session of Harvard Model Congress Europe. Additionally I gave extra tutoring in maths for a year and I have profound knowledge with Word and PowerPoint.
Through these experiences I have learned a lot about different conditions in other countries and about the missing equality of opportunities in the world. I for one figured out, that I want to help others less fortunate or without a voice to achieve justice. By rendering a European volunteer service, I can contribute on my own way of changing things and play an active part in the global community. I want to be part of something bigger than my own life and use my courage and responsibility by focusing on others. While doing that, I might be able to have a positive impact in someone\'s life and be inspiring. Throughout the work with others I want to face problems on a daily basis and deal with a mix of personalities. By doing that I want to change my perspective on the world and get better in problem - solving. Moreover, I want to adjust life out of my comfort zone and become more confident and skilled. I want to socialize and meet new people that have the same purposes as I do. Because of that I will hopefully gain new experiences and broaden my horizon. I want to attend for a European voluntary service because it is my passion to help people and I want to give them a new perspective and help them out of a crisis. Conclusive I think that I am suitable for one of those volunteer programs, because I really have the motivation to help and to change something and I would be really happy, if you would enable me to convert this motivation into action.
